I’ve been meaning to put this up for a couple of weeks…. in the latest national Diabetes magazine was an article I wrote about T1 and childbirth. To read it, go here.

John McLaren Youth Award – $1000 up for grabs.

Hi all

I got this in my email a few weeks ago and have been meaning to publicise it. Diabetes Youth New Zealand has the John McLaren Youth Awards every year, and there are four $1000 prizes up for grabs. I’ve put a copy of the application form here for you to download for yourselves or on behalf of your kids. Unfortunately this is only available for under 25s. Applications close October 31st.

Diabetes New Zealand conference 2010 – Destination Unity.

I got back from conference on Sunday night, absolutely exhausted. I always find it amazing how tired you get just sitting there at conferences… and it didn’t help that we had our six month old son in the room with us both nights either I guess – gosh babies can make some noise even when they’re sound asleep! (Actually add to that the fact that it was our first flight with him: I encourage any of you who are not already parents but are planning to be to take at least one aeroplane flight before you have children, and sit back, relax and do what you want – that is currently something I imagine I’ll be able to do again…
