I promptly downloaded the e-book (which I encourage you to do, it was only about NZ$10) and set about reading it.

My review:

A very easy read, it only took me a few hours to finish it.
Would be perfect if you have a teenager with type 1 diabetes.
Loved the mantra he used, “I am my own best doctor” – so true!

I’ve just gone online to order myself a copy of the book pictured to the right: Joe’s Rough Guide to Diabetes. I read an article about this chap about a week ago. He’s just graduated from university, and sounds like a switched on young guy who has a really good attitude to diabetes.

What the book contains (chapter-by-chapter):

So … you have Type 1 Diabetes
Day-to-day living
Exercise
Drugs
Travelling
Hospital, School and Work
How to work out how much insulin to take
Joe’s Small-in-one and why I made it
Helpful Information
