I got back from conference on Sunday night, absolutely exhausted. I always find it amazing how tired you get just sitting there at conferences… and it didn’t help that we had our six month old son in the room with us both nights either I guess – gosh babies can make some noise even when they’re sound asleep! (Actually add to that the fact that it was our first flight with him: I encourage any of you who are not already parents but are planning to be to take at least one aeroplane flight before you have children, and sit back, relax and do what you want – that is currently something I imagine I’ll be able to do again…

What a guy! Thanks to Chris Murray for sending me the link to this article about Reon Goodwillie from Christchurch, who tomorrow night is taking to the boxing ring to raise funds for Diabetes Youth Canterbury. At present he’s sitting just under the $8k mark with his fundraising effort, (at the time of publishing this he was at $7, 935) so if you have a couple of bucks going spare, go here to pledge ‘em.

Reon’s little girl Olivia has T1. She’s seven now and has had the condition since she was 15 months old.

In early February, I posted about Ruth Hill’s Application for Funding to the Ministry of Health for funding for insulin pumps and/or their consumables.
