I went out to brunch with Aaron and another friend Flash yesterday. My husband was looking after the baby, so I left him with the nappy bag and all the other baby paraphernalia, and packed myself a separate bag (normally I keep all my stuff in the nappy bag too to save taking more than one bag). Unfortunately, I also left my BG tester in the nappy bag.

I remember times long ago when I would regularly go out without my tester, but since all this pregnancy malarky I guess I’ve gone a bit OCD with the need to know my BG, so not having my tester was playing on my mind a little (and I was planning to be…

Last year in November I did a post about Natasha and her little 18 month old boy James, who needed an insulin pump to make managing his T1 easier on him and his parents. The great news is that the extended community has come to James’ aid and he now has an insulin pump, which is making his life and his parents’ so much more manageable.

Let the 6 months of rain, casseroles and pickles begin…

Some of you may have noticed a comment of mine on Nic’s blog ‘Return of the Night Spikes’ the other day when I mentioned that I think the change in seasons has an effect on my insulin requirements and how, invariably, my…

I saw this topic a while ago on a website and there were some pretty funny answers, so I thought I’d throw it to the BeingDiabetic community. I’ll make a start to get you thinking.

You know you’re diabetic when:

You accidentally cut yourself and think “oh well I may as well do a blood test on that”.
You fish a bag out of your wardrobe that you’ve not used for about five years, and there’s a mouldy jellybean/wine gum/jelly snake rolling around the bottom of it.
You had a special opening sewn into your wedding dress to take an injection through.
You go to the toilets of a restaurant/bar to do a covert injection/pump site change and feel like
