Hi all

The next date for a T1 catch up is Monday 15th February, in Auckland. Please contact me if you fancy coming along and want details.

Sorry to the rest of you who are outside of Auckland – but if you feel like getting some BeingDiabetic readers together you could always go to the BeingDiabetic Facebook page and post something on the wall to see if anyone else in your area is interested in hooking up for a drink or a meal.

I’m coming to Wellington in May for the Diabetes NZ conference, so Wellington readers out there please let me know if you’d be keen for me to organise a dinner down there then.

Book for parents of kids with T1 (plus competition!)

In my post about Joe’s Rough Guide to Diabetes I referenced an article which appeared in The Times.

While the intro was about a young guy who’s written the above book about his life since age 13 with diabetes, the lower part of the article goes into more detail about children with T1 and their parents. An excerpt from the article:

I’ve just gone online to order myself a copy of the book pictured to the right: Joe’s Rough Guide to Diabetes. I read an article about this chap about a week ago. He’s just graduated from university, and sounds like a switched on young guy who has a really good attitude to diabetes.

What the book contains (chapter-by-chapter):
