RotoruaAs you read this, I’ll be on my way to Rotovegas for the Diabetes Youth New Zealand Conference 2010.  As opening speaker and MC, I’ve got my work cut out for me. I’m hoping it comes pretty naturally as have had so many things going on in the last few weeks I’ve not had nearly as much time for prep as I’d hoped!

Anyway, I’m looking forward to all of the speakers, and particularly the session on Sunday morning which comprises a panel discussion and interactive sessions about the daily challenges of life with the big D. It will be a bit like this blog, but in real life :)

I will bring you some reports of the speakers, but can’t promise the same detail as last year because as MC I am likely to be running around quite a bit more. If any of you out there are going and want to submit your own report on speakers (if you are reporting on me I will heavily edit it to slip in a lot of hyperbole), please contact me.

Looking forward to seeing quite a few of you there!

Nic

PS – meanwhile, here’s something you can do to help get some recognition for one of the members of the community doing good things for T1. The below is taken from an email from Diabetes Auckland:

Our nomination for a Kiwi Battler Award, Gail Ellison, has been short listed for voting.
If we receive the highest votes, Diabetes Auckland will receive $10,000 and Gail $1,000.

Please do vote for Gail and ask all your friends, family and contacts to do the same.
You will not only be helping raise some much needed funds for DA but also raising the profile of Diabetes with the public and media.

Many thanks for your support – just right click on the link below.
