I’ve been meaning to put this up for a couple of weeks…. in the latest national Diabetes magazine was an article I wrote about T1 and childbirth. To read it, go here.
If you’re interested in the topic of T1 and pregnancy, you can also see a full list of my posts on the topic here.
Finally, if you’re reaaaallly interested, I am speaking on the subject at the Diabetes Youth NZ conference in Rotorua at the end of August. There’s still a small amount of time to register, I believe – you can go here to do so.
Have a good week y’all.
Nic

Thats so true about births being more medical – I dont think many of my friends really understood how much intervention I actually had to have during pregnancy, labour and birth of my son. I would have loved to have a water birth – but that is way off the cards when you are plugged into the wall!would still do it all again though – he is awesome!

Well written Nic!!!
People kept saying to me during my pregnancies “you are lucky because you can plan everything around D-Day” as the day is already planned out. Little do they know that those special surprise moments are taken away from us with T1 and unfortunately that is just another thing for us to have to get our head around. But you couldn’t be more right – as long as mum and bub are healthy, that really is the best outcome!!
