I test first thing in the morning, before my first training session and straight after, at lunch time, before my second training session and straight after, before dinner, and finally before I go to bed. WOW, thats 8 times…ouch!

I would normally test 5-7 times a day but I’m 12 weeks pregnant (yipee!) so my poor fingers are getting a battering with up to 15 tests!

Does anyone use the lower sides of the fingers, like the middle section or lower? I find I bleed less in these zones, not keen to go deeper for refuse collection purposes. I have never and will most likely never use the ear loabs. I think there is one more site, but it does not come to mind just now.
Congrats: to Jacqueline and Kiri and all the very best for your journey. I would like to suggest you get yourselves a copy of the latest Diabetes mag and store it handly so if you are ever feeling a tad down of a day, take a look at Nic and Hugo and let madam editors’s smile lift you above all your blag, until the day you do the same.

I usually test at least at least once or twice every two hours. It’s the only way I’ve managed to get my HBA1C down – yet like Donna I still get hassled by my doctors for testing too often. You’re damned if you do and damned if you dont’!

Congrats Jacquline and Kiri. Having been where you gals are, my fingers have had a very hard time over the last few years. I have found it very hard to go back to normal teting and have continued with the 10+ testing a day. All better for control though
. Good luck to you both!!

Depends what I’m doing. When I’m at home I test about 8-10 times a day. On days I’m at work or course I don’t usualy test during the day, only in the morning and evening.
To get any kind of accurate idea of what my blood sugar is doing I have to do at least three tests 15-20 minutes apart, so I can see whether it’s heading up or down. (and it never ever stays still)
