Thanks to Sarah for sending me this article which appeared in the Aucklander today.
Poor little four year old Jenna from the North Shore has been a T1 since she was 9 months old. That on its own would have been enough for this little sweetie to have to deal with, but she’s had to troop on through much more than that. She had the lenses in her eyes surgically removed at six weeks of age; she’s had open heart surgery to close a hole in her heart; and she has now lost all her hair to alopecia.
Please read this article, and think about making a donation into Jenna’s bank account to help fund a special wig for her to wear in her first year of school, when it’s so important for Jenna to blend in with the other kids and get her confidence up. At the bottom of the article there are details about a charity auction which is going ahead on the weekend, and her bank account details where you can make a contribution to the $2, 500 wig.
All the very, very best to you, Jenna and your Mum and Dad.

Thank you for your support in giving Jenna her wig. I am a very lucky person in that I am one of Jenna’s preschool teachers. She is a brave little girl who is an inspiration to us all. The kindness of others means so much, and it is very exciting to know that in the very near future Jenna will have hair, just like all the others kids around her. Thank you!
