I go through phases of being into ice cream. I was at the supermarket the other day and thought I’d grab some though, and ended up buying some vanilla Zilch. I forgot how GOOD that icecream is!! My Mum used to buy it for me when I still lived at home, and I think since moving back to NZ as an adult I thought it was a little too expensive. I think I’m back on board now…. I’m much more conscious of carb contents of things now, and if you can ‘budget’ out your carbs, all the better (especially at night time, I try not to eat anything too crazy on the carbs too close to bed so I can have nice stable blood sugars overnight).
Zilch is just eight grams of carb per hundred grams of ice-cream. That’s damn low. And I think I said it before, but YUM.
On a totally different note, for a feel-good Friday, here’s an article about another one of our littlies getting help in the form of an insulin pump. Yay.

Mmmmmm, Zilch as in low fat as well? Never seen it before but will certainly be on the lookout from now on! Im a Weight Watcher icecream girl myself, simply because I can bolus for the carbs and there isnt a whole lot of fat that plays with the carb break down. It is also seriously yummy!

Don’t eat too much in one sitting. It contains sweetner with a laxative effective. Enough said.

I love the passionfruit and Boysenberry ones. They are quite sweet and low carb so satisfy that sweet tooth. They are a bit hard to find though.

Deary me – pays to look at the date of articles that come up on an RSS feed!! The article I linked to at the bottom was from 2004 and that little poppet has now been pumping for five years, much longer than many of us! Ooops. Sorry about that people.
Secondly, someone asked if this is an advertorial for Zilch – nope, just a product I like. If I were ever to do an advertorial it would be clearly marked, no cloak and daggers here.
Sophie – thanks for the warning!!
Have a good weekend all.
