Those who know me well tend to know that I’m not one of these people that have exceptionally high levels of self-control in situations where, for example, there is food in the fridge that I am looking forward to or if there are two large buckets of Cookie Time cookies that are in the house at Christmas (have a read of my comment on this topic from last week if you missed it).

Christmas is particularly difficult in this respect because the temptations are seemingly ever present at this time of the year. Normally, I just don’t have the stuff in the house and therefore, I aren’t even tempted in the first instance but at the moment…

Dear readers

You’ve been ever so good to me over the last year and a half while I gently make improvements to the blog. I’ve had a pack of scorched almonds in the cupboard for a few weeks, thinking they might make a good addition to someone’s present – and it seemed only right to open them up and have a couple last night.

Problem is, now the packet is open, and I’ve just had about eight of them for breakfast – naughty! Have just had to correct a 12.6. Oh well,…
