I’m writing this as I run out the door to work, but very quickly – Youth Conference was great – met so many people who were all there just trying to do the best for their condition/their kids’ condition/generally to help people with Type 1.

Overall the speakers were excellent and the conference ran really smoothly…. no time to go into any detail right now but I’ll drip-feed in a few bits and pieces over the week when time permits.

If you’re new to the blog after hearing about it at the conference – WELCOME.

Have a great week!

I have a good friend named Flash, who is a type 1 diabetic who has seen it all. She’s great fun, and has an amazingly positive attitude to life. About a year ago, one of her health professionals told her she should ’sort out her will’ in reference to her diabetes control. Hi everyone

Am posting from the domestic terminal at Auckland Airport (desperate times ) just before I fly out to Nelson for this weekend’s conference.

The astute ones of you will notice the new Being Diabetic brand on the site – I hope you like it!

A massive thanks to a very talented designer who created the new brand for me. If you need any design work done you should contact Theunis from the Creative Bureau on hello@the-cb.com. Thanks again Theunis!

Good-oh – this weekend is the Diabetes Youth Conference in Nelson, and Aaron’s off down there tonight, with me getting up at some god-awful hour to get there in time for the opening speeches tomorrow morning (thank you grabaseat).

I’ll be doing my best to be taking notes in each of the seminars, and will get those up on the blog when time permits next week. In the meantime, if you think of any questions for any of the speakers you want me to ask on your behalf, please drop them in the comments box by the end of the day today – reminder of who the speakers are here.

Have a good weekend people!

Nic

The good news is that he still looks normal, but not so cool is he’s tracking bigger than the average baby of his gestation. I watched as the guy did the scan and noticed immediately when he measured the baby’s head and it came up as the size of a 29 week 3 day old baby, and then he measured round the tummy which came in as a 30 week and 1 day old baby. He wasn’t going to be drawn on making a comment so I waited until I…
