There are certain situations and places where you need to be as together as possible. One of those is at the airport. Another is the bank.

So, probably not a good idea today then for me to finish up a meeting, blunder outside, take blood sugar, discover I’m at 2.6, eat a handful of glucose then walk straight into a Bureau de Change. I can’t help myself… Always trying to be as efficient as possible, me. My husband and I are off to visit friends in Melbourne tomorrow and need some Aussie dollars, so why wouldn’t I?

There are many answers to that question.

1. I could barely string a sentence together.
2. The lady behind the counter was…

I put this up in October last year but someone just recently asked me again if I find the word ‘diabetic’ an issue or offensive in any way, so I thought I’d re-post it for your feedback. What do you think?

I recently wrote an article for a diabetes publication, and the edited version came back with a comment saying the article had been altered in parts because it was not the publication’s editorial style to refer to people with diabetes as ‘diabetics’. What to do? Details below (care of http://worlddiabetesday.org ). FYI – this is 8am our time, tomorrow (Wednesday).
On Tuesday, July 14, at 4:00 pm ET, 14,000 people worldwide will test their blood sugar simultaneously and share their results online through TuDiabetes.com (www.tudiabetes.com), a social network…
