…. or several as the case was last week.

If I don’t go to the gym before work in the morning, I normally have a couple of bits of toast and a small yoghurt for breakfast. Of course I’m always rushing, so the technique normally goes a little something like this:

1. Put two slices of toast in toaster
2. Check BG, take insulin
3. Get ramekin out, weigh yoghurt into it
4. When toast pops up, put it down one more time
5. Eat yoghurt
6. Get toast out of toaster, spread Marmite on it, wrap in paper towel
7. Finish yoghurt, load dishwasher, grab keys, toast, head out door
8. Eat…

From TVNZ this afternoon:

The world’s first “low GI” sugar is to be launched on Monday, and a nutritionist says it is the healthier alternative to white sugar.

Manufactured by CSR and marketed under the LoGiCane logo, the new formulation of sugar was developed with the aid of $5.4 million in grants from the Australian and Queensland governments.

Independent tests have put the sugar’s glycemic index (GI) at 50, compared to a GI average of 65 for white sugar.

In case you’ve not already picked it up from other things I’ve said on this blog: I am a very organised person. My friends used to joke that I must decide which shoelace I am going to tie up first before I bother bending over to do it. I’m not quite that bad, but the sentiment is right. I like to plan ahead. Funnily enough I think it helps me be more relaxed. If I’ve done my due diligence I spend less of my life having to stress over something I’ve forgotten to do (there are times when I slip up though, you’ll hear about a case like this on this blog pretty soon).

I caught a snippet of something on the Radio Live TV3 News simulcast on the way home from work tonight, something along the lines of “excessive alcohol, type 1 diabetes” so I looked it up when I got home. Apparently last week the guy on the right, Manly Sea Eagles league player Brett Stewart was arrested and charged over the alleged sexual assault of a 17 year old girl while highly intoxicated.

Commentators are pointing out that this is worrying for the image of league. What I find more worrying (those who know me will know I could care less about the game) is that this guy is a type 1…
