… beautiful day, check. Baby fed and sleeping, check. A few hours up my sleeve, check. Yeah – I’ll go for a big walk! Hmmmm, feeling a bit low – test my BG – yup, it’s a 2.6. Now I’m downing marshmallows and waiting for it to come back up again.
Diabetes, I really just wish you didn’t exist when I’m thinking about exercise, it would be so lovely to just spring out of bed and head out the door for a big blast some days, wouldn’t it? I’m always a bit jealous when my husband gets up, grabs some food on the way out the door, drives to the beach, goes surfing for three hours and grabs a pie and a chocolate milk on the way back home. Oh the freedom!

I’m with you on that – it kinda puts a spanner in the good intention to get outdoors and get that tummy back in shape huh? I have a 4 month old and had a few too many in the 2’s and lost my hypo awareness – double argh. Those first few months are such a hard juggling act between caring for your beautiful new baby and trying to take care of oneself and keep up the good work that you and the healthcare team worked so hard to achieve. I’ve never tried marshmallows – I’ve switched to those gross but effective hypo gel shots. mmmmm.
