In my last week at work, we had an off-site meeting for all staff at work and headed to a vineyard in Matakana. After an afternoon session run by management we all went into the lovely, candle-lit restaurant for the meal. Luckily our lovely office manager had consulted with me on the menu first so I was in good shape in terms of food options for the diabetes/pregnancy fussy scenario (can’t wait to not be such a pain in the arse re food). It was getting quite late (for a fat lady) and it was pretty dimly lit when the main came out. I had ordered the chicken – it looked delicious. It was sitting on some sort of cous cous (guessed about 20g carb) and had three half potatoes sitting around the outside (they were small, I guessed about 25g carb altogether).

Dialled up my pump and started eating. Oooops. The ‘potatoes’ turned out to be roast onion. Thankfully there was still bread on the table to make up the extra 25g carb. Gah.
