Strange habit of mine which I clocked myself doing today when I was low with a 3.1: When I’m having a hypo I often try to keep going, and because I’m in a desk job that often means reading type on screen. I’ve caught myself doing this a couple of times lately – when my vision starts to go all hazy due to the hypo, I’ll cup my hand over my eyes to try to see the type better, as if there is sun in my eyes… duh! Shows how much of our behaviour when low is on autopilot I guess.

I know that feeling!! I seem to get really busy but it’s not useally that productive as i find myself going around in circles. In my head i want to do things but my body doesn’t always follow!! I’m an early childhood teacher and sometimes my ‘busy’ state is helpful for a short period and then i need sugar!! I need to get in the habit of carrying something in my pocket, as it’s not always easy to get to my hypo kit when i need it. Oh the challenges of being a diabetic!!!!

It’s hard isn’t it…. I had a huge hypo before a meeting yesterday morning – thankfully it was about half an hour before so I had time to (mostly) recover. I’m lucky in that I have the option of either driving or getting a cab to client meetings, so I took my chance to get a cab this time around just while I got back up to speed again. Must be hard when there are kids all around you… and do they wonder why you’re eating ’sweets’?
