Congratulations on your little girl Sarah! I was just thinking of you today actually as you first got in touch with me when you were 31 weeks. Fantastic news. I’ll hang on for grim death over these last weeks…. seven more weeks of work, thank goodness.

Insulin requirements doubled? Mine quadrupled with my third pregnancy. And when I was on the pump I had to change my cartridge every day in the last weeks – bit of a drag. Good luck for your last trimester – it’s a bit of an endurance test. I am still feeling giddy at being allowed to go up to 10 mMol/L without thinking I’m harming my unborn child – she’s 2 weeks now. I held out until 39 weeks with the delayed gestational thing in mind, but still breastfeeding isn’t trouble-free. Then again, all my non-diabetic friends are having a hard time with it too!

Congratulations – sounds as though you are doing well. Keep it up. Every pregnancy has its own way of going. I’ve observed that sometimes the insulin requirements actually drop in the last week or so.
