I currently have not one, not two, but THREE insulin pumps in my possession. Unfortunately I don’t own a single one of them. Boooo! I started on the Animas today (will report back when I’ve had a chance to settle in with it) and have the Cozmo pump plus a back-up one I’ve had since the last one broke a week or so ago to give back to the rep on Thursday.

This is almost as ironic as a free ride when you’ve already paid (a la Alanis Morrissette, i.e not that ironic but a little bit interesting). I have just been turned down by four separate organisations whom I applied to for pump funding. Well I say ‘just’, it’s happened gradually over the last few weeks and I got the last rejection letter yesterday from the Lotteries Board.

I did get one benefactor though – the Lions have pledged $400 towards my cause! So in the meantime it’s just save, save, save so I can have enough money to buy my own pump at the end of the year (when I have to give back my loan pump) and for when we go down to one income because our bundle of joy has made his/her way into the world.
