I got a call from reception yesterday afternoon telling me there was a huge bunch of flowers waiting there for me. I had no idea what I’d done to deserve such a treat! So I legged it out there to see what all the fuss was about and came face to face with the beautiful flowers you see on the left. Ahhhhh! My lovely friend Suzie had sent them to show her support in the initial days of the pump. Isn’t that amazing and awesome?!

I have to say that I’ve been incredibly lucky with all the well wishes I’ve had over the last few weeks. Of particular note have been Suzie and Trudi, two of my best gal pals, and of course my wonderful husband and amazing Mum and Dad. Thanks so much all.

I often find in the diabetes mags there are a lot of articles about your support people, and there’s a reason for that. Diabetes is a frustrating thing to live with, and sometimes (against my strong will) we have to ask for help. It’s lovely to have those people in our lives.

I am having a big diabetes people day today! Meeting with a girlfriend I made through this blog, who is type one and heavily pregnant, and a guy I used to work with who keeps me laughing about the condition – he has an awesome attitude to the whole scenario. More on that later.
